My Dream, My Future
Everyone had their own dreams. Dream is something that
all of us need to have. It is our vision. Dream is what you want to do for your
future. Every person had their own journey in life also. I believe that having
a great dream, is a must to us. And I have a big dream. Next month, I will
be graduating as a high school student and I will face my next chapter in life,
as a college student. I have already planned that my course is Bachelor of
Science in Accountancy because my dream in my future is to become a certified
public accountant. It is because I am happy with it. And I’m sure that I will
become successful someday with the help of God and my parents who support me in
studying.
It is said that fire righting is a very difficult job to get into
because there are many applicants and it takes a very long time to know if you
get the job. I know I have a long way to go before I can become an accountant,
but that is my dream and I know if I work hard enough my dream will come true.
Like I said before, it is very important to have a big dream.
It is not wrong. Even if you cannot achieve if, just make it as your vision.
Dream can help you to prepare to face this challenging world. What am I going
through now is just the start. I just find the keys. I am still trying to open
the door. When I finally did, I will not hesitate.
Change: It starts with me
“Everyone thinks of changing the
world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy.
You want to make a difference in this world, right?
I’m no different from the rest of
you in this respect – in fact; I’m probably more likely to claim this
statement. Ever since I realized the mass potential of our lives, I’ve
sub-consciously carried a mission to change the world and leave it a better
place than when I found it.
However,
recently I’ve had a re-think.
This desire to change the world
all sounds very heroic and noble and grand. But is it possible? Is it really
possible to change the world, to make huge differences so that people hail us
and shower us with praise?
Yes and no. I think it is possible
to make a difference in the world, perhaps to a small handful of the world’s
population. But on the other hand, I don’t think it’s possible to change the
world. There’s a difference between changing the world, and making a difference
in the world, which is important to recognize because I believe you can do one
but you can’t do the other.

Kannawidan: Ylokos Festival
Proud to be An Ilocano
KANNAWIDAN is an Ilocano term which means “a
feast of all heritages, practices and products” in Ilocos Sur. The province of
Ilocos Sur is celebrating its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the
province’s 197th year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818
separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte.
The province has a rich heritage and unique
cultures that need to be preserved for the next generations. Highlights include
the members of the Bayanihan Dance Company entertained the Ilocanos with their
world class performance of the Beauty of the Philippines through dances, music
and sounds. Officials from the trade and agri fair displayed all products from
the different towns of the Ilocos Sur and its nearby provinces. The annual
“Pinaka Contest” was also held to give citations the local farmers’
extraordinary farm and fishery products and livestock. This Kannawidan
Ylocos Festival aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province’
rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the
different agriculture and industry products.

Reflection
#3rdGradingPeriodEnds
As the
year 2015 starts, the 3rd Grading Period of our class is nearly
ending. A lot of learnings again about computer technology have filled my
brains. Even though, it was hard for me to manage my time in doings all
requirements to be passed, I have still maintain to study my subject in ICT-IV.
My
knowledge in doing a HTML Document has already increased. I can also memorize
some of the tags that are used in a HTML Document.
Still,
I am enjoying my class in ICT and I will miss it when I am graduating in High
School.
New Year New Me
Happy New Year Everyone! Say Good Bye to the year 2014
and let’s Welcome 2015!
Is it possible that a person would be able to change
if the New Year starts? I don’t think so. Is it possible to make our new year’s
resolutions become true? How could it be? I think it is only true at the start.
After how many or months, people would be able to forget it.
For me, changing my wrong attitudes is very important.
But, I cannot promise that it would be an easy thing for me to change all of
this. One of my teachers told us that we can post a clean blank sheet of paper
in our room. Then, every wrong doings that we will make, just write a dot or
mark into it so that you will remember how bad or good are you in one day. I think
this is one of the ways that I can do to decrease my wrong doings until I will
be able to see a clean blank page.
Now, the year 2015 has now started so let’s start a
new life and forget the past.

The Real Essence of Christmas
Celebrate the Goodness of God Not the Season Itself
The most awaited part of the year of some people is the month of December
because the season of Christmas comes. There are a lot of decorations and
preparations they do with their houses such as building a Christmas tree with
gifts under it, hanging a star lantern outside their houses, shopping gifts for
their children, and many more just to celebrate Christmas. But, they do know
what is the real essence of Christmas, or they just follow the traditions in
Christmas season? What did Christmas
means to them?
As is with any festival, Christmas has many traditions and
customs, which are being carried forward by families the world over. These
traditions and customs may be as varied as the diversity in cultures. Some
though are common to everyone celebrating Christmas in any part of the world.
But for me, the most special thing to do in Christmas is to remember the birth
of our Lord Jesus Christ and giving thanks to Him what did He do to save us
from our sins. Also, George Millward McDougall said that Christmas means a
spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men
should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and
deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God. This comment
says it all. Christmas is not all about merry making. We must also spare time
to reflect on the essence of the period, which is the love of God for humanity.
As we celebrate His birth, let us be human and kind enough
to remember and show some love to those motherless babies, helpless orphans,
hospital patients, prisoners, beggars and all those who are not fortunate
enough to be actively involved in the celebration.

Climate Change
You Need to Change to
Save the Future
Are you
already aware on what is happening now in our environment? If not, wake up, for
the world has many changes at all compared to the beginning. Our surroundings
have become dirtier. And even our climate would change same as today. Nowadays,
climate change is one of the major problems of human beings. It is already
happening and represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic
threats facing the planet.
Sometimes,
we are not aware of this kind of problem. Some people wouldn’t care about it. They
did not know that climate change can also cause into death. Through increase in
temperature, people will suffer from different diseases such as on skin and it
can also cause dehydration. The cases of hypertension and heart attack will
increase also. It can affect every person including our health. This climate
change is either the revenge or warning of nature because of our wrong doings
to it. This may stop if we people would have a discipline that can manage the
nature wisely.
Learning
how to take care of the environment will decrease the rate of having a climate
change. So, why don’t people think about it? It can help us a lot. So that the
living in this world will last long.

National Reading Month Celebration
Outpouring Our Hearts and Minds through Literacy
and English Proficiency

Today,
one of the most important subjects for students is about learning English, such
as how to write, read and speak English language. We are learning it because it
has an important value in our country. We learn English to make our country a
better one. Some of trade and businesses have progressed because we can
communicate to other countries to supply our needs here in our country by
selling their different products of their country. In Literature, English also
has a great contribution in it. We can’t read their Literature if we don’t even
know how to understand it. That’s why learning English is very important.
English
is the dominant business language and it has become almost a necessity for
people to speak English if they are to enter a global workforce, research from
all over the world shows that cross-border business communication is most often
conducted in English. Its importance in the global market place therefore
cannot be understated, learning English really can change your life. Although
learning English can be challenging and time consuming, we can see that it is
also very valuable to learn and can create many opportunities.Thursday, 20 November 2014
Equal Rights Equal Opportunities
We Have the Rights
Most
people take it for granted that women and men should be treated equally,
receive the same quality of education and have equal opportunities. But, for
now, what is happening? Some countries haven’t yet this type of equality. We
are born because we have the right to live in this world. We are all equal and
have the right to make free will. The call for equal is a persuasive one. All
people are created in the image of God, and no person, and certainly not a
whole category of people, should be subjected to unjust and unequal treatments.
Now,
they are promoting the gender equality in our country and it is a way of making
the women’s rights strong because it is wrong to persuade women that they
should first enter such opportunities that a man can do. Children, they have
the rights too, because they are also human beings like us that can’t be abuse.
They have the right to be loved and take good care.
Human
rights of every individual are very important to human living. A person should
be given equal opportunities to prove that he/she is important as a human
being. Give every person a respect so that they will enjoy their freedom as a
human being.

Intramurals 2014
High school life would not be completed without the Intramural Sports Program because this is very important to every student like us. It improves our physical skills and maintains the fitness of our body. The main purpose of the intramural sports program is to provide opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to actively engage in activities involving sport, dances, recreation, and play while providing structure for an experiential education.
Last September 18, it was declared that the Intramurals 2014 in Ilocos Sur National High School is open. It is headed by Mr. Dennis Quillopo, the intramural coordinator of the school. The next day, sports were held during that day such as soccer, volleyball, basketball and etc. The weather was not good at all that made the Intramural continued last September 25. It was a battle between the four different year levels namely: Freshies, Sophies, Juniors and the Seniors team. They competed to win the trophy of the champions. What team do you think who owns it?

My Teacher My Hero
Why My Teacher is a Hero
A hero is an entity that shows noble principles and tireless
service providers in the community. After all, we all can be heroes; we should
be honest and strive in our work for others and not just for ourselves.
For me, an example of this is our parents. It is not a joke to
become a parent, by the time their child is born, it is their first priority in
their lives. They are responsible for taking care of them. Every day, they are providing
the food, home, and education of their children.
We also considered our teachers like our parents. As they said,
they are our second parents. They provide us our needed knowledge for the
future, not only for academics but also for our humanities and good morals that
we will be applying while we are living.
I am very lucky that God gave me my teachers. I salute them and I considered
them my heroes.
Science Month Celebration 2014
Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful
Defenses towards National Wellness
According to the internet, Immunation
is a play on words on ammunition and immunization. They would like the science
clubbers to be armed or to be immune against diseases through imparting
knowledge about disease, how they spread, etc. Its goal is not only the science
clubbers that benefit from this knowledge but also their school and communities
and thus leading to national wellness.
Since our country today can
be entered by many diseases from the other countries, this theme promotes that
we should be prepared and be healthy to prevent such diseases that can cause
death.

My Modern Heroes
I
Salute My Modern Heroes
A lot of thoughts came to my mind
when one of our teachers asked, “Who is your greatest hero?” I was bound to
answer that question because anyone can be my hero without being famous and
being globally known. For instance, I have my friends that give me advises that
I really look for and helping me for some of my problems, and also my teachers
who educate me for a success. These are my considered heroes, but there are
these people who made it to be my heroes and who I was within times of pains
and struggles in life. They deserve to be called My Greatest Heroes.
For me, my greatest heroes are my parents. Yes, you read it right! They used as an instruments of God why I am living. I lift up my chin in times of disappointments and sadness because they taught me how. They are the first one who gave me good moral values to know and they are always supporting me in every matter. Sometimes, they disagreed what I want to do but I listen to their reasons why they don’t like it, because they know what is good for me.
Living in a colorful life and creating new destinations is because of my
parents. This motivates me in becoming a person with an ability to do more. I
became the person who I am now. Heroes are more than people who save cats from
trees. I thank God for giving me with these people. And I know heroes love to
take credibility for changing a person. Enacting all the qualities that they
taught me is the best way in paying them for all the hard work that they've
done just to make me better among the better.

Filipino: Wika ng Pagkakaisa
Tayo'y Magkaisa Para sa Ating Bansa
Maraming
at talastasan.

SONA 2014
State Of Nation Address
2014
President Benigno Aquino III has delivered his fifth SONA last
July 28, 2014 at Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
In the president’s speech, he made some personal
statement and become emotional during the last part of it. He stated that, “The
Filipino is worth dying for; the Filipino is worth living for. He narrated how
the government endured the corruption and hardships. He has also cited that
he’s already contented with the accomplishments of his administration. But the
question is, are this accomplishments satisfied the many Filipinos?
During his speech, some people were protested
outside the event area, they said that Aquino is the Pork Barrel king as they
showed “holDAPer” which pertains to the president’s DAP. They were trying to
protest about the controversial DAP. But the president explained about this
issue. President PNoy explained the importance of the Disbursement Acceleration
Program (DAP) as he defended his stance, despite the controversy surrounding
its implementation. He showed all the projects funded by DAP that came from the
savings of the national government. The Pres. noted that because of DAP, it was
able to help TESDA scholars achieved their goals even showcasing a testimonials
from beneficiaries of the program. He also noted that the employment rate
of the country had increased and reflects how his administration handled the
labor policies.
As most Filipinos know, every SONA was the speech
of the president in which he will deliver all his plans and improvement of the
country especially on economy. But many were dismayed because some of the
promises were not granted so they protest.

Nutrition Month Celebration 2014
Awareness to the Nutrition Month Theme 2014
Nutrition month is one of the most
important events, that is why we are celebrating it today for the month of
July. This includes the importance of making informed food choices as well as
developing and maintaining good eating habits. The one chosen theme for this
year is, “Kalamidad Paghandaan: Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan”. Some students
ask about what this theme all about. They did not notice the importance on
understanding it while they were celebrating it.
The theme is referred to us about
what happened to Tacloban City, Philippines as they were experienced a great
state of calamity last November 2013 after being severely hit by super typhoon
named “Yolanda”. The government did not want to happen this again because many
people died. So they made a campaign and through this theme, it will become
useful and easy for them.
The theme promotes interventions to
address nutritional needs in emergencies and disasters. This includes on how
the people will prepare, recover, and response the calamity of the country. It
will also increase the awareness among the families and every individual to
improve their strategies to prevent malnutrition and worsening of nutritional
status in times of emergencies and disasters. It aims to uplift a person to be
ready and become healthy at all times especially on calamities.
It is believed that giving importance
to nutrition awareness is a great key to a better preparedness and efficiently
responds to nutrition in emergencies.
